About TRiO Student Support Services
Empowering First-Generation, Low-Income, and Disabled Students for Success
At Central Carolina Community College, our TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) programs are designed to support and uplift students who face barriers to achieving their college dreams. Funded through a federal grant, these programs provide free academic, financial, and personal support to eligible students.
We proudly offer two Student Support Services programs:
- Student Support Services – Classic
- Student Support Services – STEM & Health Sciences
Together, we serve over 260 students across Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties, helping them persist, transfer, and graduate.

- Referrals to campus tutoring services (we connect you with CCCC’s Tutoring Center)
- Study skills workshops
- Financial aid assistance
- Financial literacy workshops (budgeting, loans, planning)
- Scholarship search support
- College success workshops
- Visits to 4-year universities to explore programs and campuses
- Guidance on making the most of CCCC’s transfer resources
- Career planning resources
- Mentorship opportunities
- Success coaching for academic, personal, and career goals
