FEES:
To comply with North Carolina law, nominal registration fees are charge. The fee for each course is indicated at the end of each course listing and are subject to change. North Carolina residents 65 or older are usually exempt from this fee except for self-supported community service courses. Some classes are supported only by fees and all registrants must pay the fees. There is not charge for volunteer rescue and life saving personnel or local law enforcement officers for their special extension training programs. Some course require accident insurance while in class. For these courses, the $1.35 insurance fee is in addition to the registration fee and is required of all participants. An additional cost is charged for books, supplies and materials as necessary.

FEE SCHEDULE FOR OCCUPATIONAL COURSES:
$50 for 0-10 hours, $55 for 11-30 hours, $60 for 31-100 hours, $65 for courses of more than 100 hours.

COMMUNITY SERVICE COURSES:
The fee will vary based on cost of instruction and size of class. Refund Policy: If a student must withdraw from a course, he/she need to contact the Continuing Education Director in the county where the course is being taught. To be eligible for a refund, the student must request a refund on or before the 10% point of the class for occupational extension course and on or before the 20% point for community service classes. Each of these classes carries a 75% refund If made by these percentage dates. In order to receive a 100% refund, the student must request before the class is scheduled to start or on the first day of class. This refund is limited to the registration fee and does not include accident insurance, liability insurance, textbooks or supplied. Students may request a friend in writing or complete a Continuing Education Withdrawal Form that is available at the Continuing Education Office. Withdrawal Forms must be received by the Continuing Education Office on or prior to the deadlines listed above before a refund can be initiated. Credit card payments will receive a credit back to the credit card number - cash and check payments will be issued a check from the Business office to cover the refund (allowing app. two weeks for proper processing).

COURSE REPEAT POLICY:
For Occupational Courses: Students taking a course more than twice in a five-year period will be required to pay the total cost of the course($4.69 for each contact hour of instruction) This applied to courses taken since September 1, 1993. This requirement does not apply if the course is for certification or licensing. Other Courses: There is no limit on how often a student can repeat courses. You can repeat courses as long as the student (1) continues to show progress, (2) does not prevent other students from participating (3) pays appropriate fees and (4) does not violate the North Carolina Department of Community College polices.
