Central Carolina Community College's Chatham County Campus is located near the intersection of NC 87 and 64 in Pittsboro. The Pittsboro Campus offers the first two years of a university degree program through the Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degree programs. In addition, the campus is the home to two programs unique to the state of North Carolina and the southeastern US. The campus has offered an Associate in Applied Science in Sustainable Agriculture since 2001, and began offering the AAS in Alternative Energy: Biofuels Technology in the fall semester of 2008. The campus has an extensive offering of continuing education courses in sustainability, including green building construction and design. Other technical and vocational programs at the campus include Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting, and Early Childhood Education.
The campus has a full service library open to the community as well as the student population, and an Academic Assistance Center to provide assistance to college students. Other community resources at this campus include a Small Business Assistance Center and a five star preschool for ages 3-5 which serves as a lab school for the Early Childhood Education department.
The Professional Arts & Crafts: Sculpture program is located at a special facility in the downtown NC Arts Incubator in Siler City. This program is unique to the state of North Carolina and includes instruction in design, clay sculpture, metal sculpture, and pottery. The facility includes a student gallery for ongoing art shows and events.
The Siler City Center is located at 502 West Third Street. Both the Siler City Center and the Pittsboro Campus offer non-credit certificate courses in Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, English as a Second Language, GED, occupational training and general interest for which Continuing Education Units are awarded.
The Chatham campuses of CCCC are expanding! Construction on a new Siler City Center will begin soon. The new Center will be located in the Central Carolina Business Park off highway 64 adjacent to Walmart. In addition, a new Sustainable Technologies Classroom/Lab Building and a Chatham Community Library are being constructed on the Pittsboro Campus and should be opening late in 2009. www.chathamnc.org/Index.aspx?page=798
