CCCC partners with Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery
SANFORD, N.C. — With cookies and cream, a Sanford dessert shop is stepping up to support CCCC athlete dreams.
Customers simply need to mention “I’m with CCCC” at checkout at Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery, located at 3268 NC-87 in Sanford, and the store will donate 10% of those sales to CCCC Athletics, according to owner Jag Rede.
The partnership is intended to be ongoing for the long term, Rede said.
“We are thrilled to partner with CCCC Athletics,” he said. “We look forward to contributing to the athletics program while giving our local community another way to support CCCC and enjoy Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery.”
CCCC is working to spread the word to the college’s students, faculty, staff, and broader community.
CCCC’s Executive Director of Athletics and Student Outreach Kelvin Hunt said the partnership with Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery is more than just a business relationship.
“It represents a shared commitment to our community and our student-athletes,” he said. “Partnerships like this allow CCCC Athletics to build new resources while giving our local businesses an opportunity to connect with the Cougar family.”
Funds raised through the partnership will go to the CCCC Foundation’s Cougar Blue Booster Club, which has supported CCCC's student-athletes since its founding in 2023. The club provides funding to ensure that athletic opportunities are available to CCCC students in an environment where they can be successful both academically and athletically. CCCC's teams include Men's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, and Men's and Women's Soccer.
“CCCC athletes are more than competitors, they are young men and women who work hard, overcome challenges, and refuse to let circumstances define what they can achieve,” Hunt said. “They carry the pride of CCCC every time they step onto the court or field, while striving for excellence in the classroom and in life.”
