Professionals holding the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential have:
Completed an American Dental Association accredited dental assisting program.
Met all the requirements of a Dental Assistant Level II and have completed the Dental Assisting National Board.
As students complete program requirements to become a DA II, they may then complete various sections of the Dental Assisting National Board including Infection Control, Dental Radiology, and Chairside Procedures. Once all three sections of the exam are completed the graduate will then be considered a Certified Dental Assistant.
The dental assisting program encourages all current students and graduates to complete the DANB in order to gain this valuable credential. More dental offices are seeking dental assistants with this certification and there are many benefits to holding a DANB certification.
