What You’ll Learn
CCCC’s diagnostic medical sonography program prepares students to be successful members of the health care team. Students are exposed to a rich supply of technology in the campus lab as well as a broad range of technology at many different clinical sites. Here, our students become sonographers. They are capable of operating ultrasound equipment to produce quality, diagnostic images of the human body. In this way, ultrasound techs are a vital component of a patient’s healthcare experience and outcome. Students will sit for the Abdomen and OB/GYN registries during their time in the program providing them the opportunity to graduate as a single or double-registered technician.
Why Study Medical Sonography at CCCC?
Low Student-Faculty Ratio
Our student-faculty ratio is low at 8:1. Our program is blessed with instructors that collectively bring nearly a century of experience to support our students. This experience includes many concentrations in the ultrasound profession; some of which include, abdomen, breast, echo, maternal fetal medicine (high risk OB), and vascular.
Two-Year Program
New cohorts start every fall and within two years students can graduate as a double-registered ultrasound technologist. For a relatively short amount of time invested, students will have a very fruitful career, both professionally and economically.
On-Campus Scanning Lab
Our students have access to a variety of ultrasound machines, phantoms, and multiple simulators. These resources are vital to our students being able to learn how to acquire the highest quality of ultrasound images for their patients.
