SANFORD - The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation has made a generous $5,000 donation to help equip the kitchen for the Central Carolina Community College's Culinary Arts program at the new Dunn Center.
"We are very grateful for the support of the Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation and then helping us purchase needed equipment to fully equip our new Culinary Arts facilities in Dunn," said Emily Hare, Executive Director of the CCCC Foundation.
"This new facility is going to help us continue to change lives and impact Harnett County, Dunn, and the surrounding areas," Hare said. "We thank the Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation for partnering with us and supporting the mission of CCCC."
"The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation is proud to make this gift and play a role in the education and training of CCCC's culinary students," said Tammy Thurman, community relations manager for Piedmont Natural Gas. "We're excited to see the difference this new equipment will make in helping students prepare for their future careers."
The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation was established in 2004 with initial funding of $7 million from Piedmont Natural Gas. The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation assists qualified charitable agencies and organizations, within Piedmont's three-state service area, through the awarding of grants. The Foundation's mission of "Enriching Our Communities" mirrors Piedmont's strong philanthropic commitment to the communities it serves.
The Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation's grant-making strategy further reflects that commitment by focusing on three areas: environmental stewardship and energy sustainability; community enrichment initiatives centered on K-12 STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, workforce development, and health and human services; and energy assistance programs, such as Piedmont's "Share the Warmth" program. Since its inception, the Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in grants to qualifying organizations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants.
For information on giving to the Foundation, contact Emily Hare, executive director of the CCCC Foundation, 919-718-7230 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
