SANFORD, N.C. - Central Carolina Community College has been included in the Military Times' 2023 Best for Vets: Colleges rankings.

Military Times Best for Vets: Colleges is the largest and most comprehensive annual ranking of schools for military service members and veterans. This year, 325 schools made the list.

CCCC President Dr. Lisa M. Chapman says, "CCCC is honored to serve our Veterans. We are thankful for the sacrifices they and their families have made during their military careers and we appreciate that they have chosen us to support them as they transition from active duty to their next career. Doing this well is certainly the right thing to do, but it is also incredibly important to our community as our employers know the value of the Veteran talent and they depend on us to assist with connecting them with this exceptional workforce."

"Working with Veterans and their families is the best part of my job. They have sacrificed so much," said Angie Estes, CCCC Veterans Affairs Coordinator. "I feel it is important to help make their educational journey as smooth as possible. Being placed on the Best for Vets shows this is a place that all military affiliated students should consider when choosing a school."

"Central Carolina Community College serves our Veterans and those military affiliated in a variety of ways -- providing assistance during and after their military service. With numerous career technical trainings and curriculum pathways to choose from, CCCC is here to help Veterans and military affiliated students find their way forward," said Jennifer Dillon, CCCC TRiO Veterans Upward Bound Director. "The TRiO Veterans Upward Bound Program is just one way that CCCC has positioned itself to support and bolster a Veteran's success. This unique program seeks to prepare Veterans of all ages to enroll and succeed in their post-secondary education. Serving this distinct population is an honor -- one we here at CCCC embrace with our full commitment to exceptional learning for all!"
