Patrick Kelly grew up on a local tobacco farm and now works at Central Carolina Community College as the school's coordinator of Student Outreach and Partnerships. He and his aunt, Kay Kelly (background, standing), visited CCCC instructor Bianka Stumpf's history class to answer students' questions about tobacco growing. Among the class members were Olivia Ray and Isaac Phillips (right). Tobacco growing has deep roots in North Carolina and Stumpf said inviting tobacco farmers to speak to her classes allows students to experience something with historical and local relevance.
