Youth Programs/Summer Camps
Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education offers fun learning opportunities for young people. Most of the programs are offered in the summer, when parents are looking for interesting and educational activities for their children at reasonable cost.
Programs are available at the college's campuses in Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties. The offerings vary, depending on the campus and community interest. This variety provides a wide range of learning experiences.
Programs offered include:
- Cake Decorating for Kids (ages 8-12) - Learn how to decorate cakes and cupcakes with flowers, clowns, swirlies, and other fun designs that you create from scratch.
- Digital Photography for Kids (ages 8-12) - Learn how to take great pictures with your (or your parents') digital camera. We will also explore ways to have fun being creative with digital photography.
- Kid's Cooking Camp (ages 6-8) - Chef Hamm will teach young chefs, 6-8 years old, the basics of food preparation and safety in the kitchen.
- Kid's Cooking Camp (ages 9-12) - Chef Hamm will teach young chefs, 9-12 years old, the basics of food preparation and safety in the kitchen.
- Kid's Cooking Camp (all ages) - Chef Hamm will teach young chefs of all ages the basics of food preparation and safety in the kitchen.
- Kid's Sewing Camp (ages 10-12) - Learn how to cut material and sew a bib apron and tote bag. You'll need to bring your own scissors, thread, and material.
