Youth Programs/Summer Camps

Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education offers fun learning opportunities for young people, age 8 and older. Most of the programs are offered in the summer, when parents are looking for interesting and educational activities for their children at reasonable cost.

Programs are available at the college's campuses in Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties. The offerings vary, depending on the campus and community interest. This variety provides a wide range of learning experiences.

Programs offered include:

  • Kids' Sewing Camp: Participants learn the basics of sewing and create a project to keep.
  • Kids' Computer Camp: Participants learn about computers, software, and how to safely browse the Internet.
  • Cooking Camp: Children and teens spend a fun-filled week learning a variety of cooking techniques with a well-known local chef. A variety of sessions are held so instruction is tailored to various age groups.
  • Teen Medical Programs Camp: High school students who may be considering a career in healthcare gain information and participate in activities to become more familiar with careers in the field.
  • Biotechnology Camp: Participants learn about biotechnology and have fun with hands-on activities.
  • Laser Camp: In lectures and hands-on laser labs, participants learn math and science skills in an interesting and enjoyable way.
