Meet Your Coaches

In private meetings or small group settings, Success Coaches target students' individual needs and identify appropriate resources. Success Coaches work with students on self-advocacy, goal clarification, motivation, mindfulness, time management, study skills, reading comprehension, and help them create personal plans for academic success. Key to their work is a student-centered approach which builds independence and accountability and encourages students to fully engage with all of the learning opportunities Central Carolina Community College has to offer.

Sanford Main Campus

Seth holds an Associate in Arts from Sandhills Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Technology from Saint Andrews Presbyterian College, and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. In addition, he also received a Graduate Certificate in Distance Instruction from East Carolina University.

Seth is a self-proclaimed geek and Whovian, who enjoys writing fictional stories, and spends his free time with his wife and two dogs.

Pittsboro Campus

Angela Crisp-Sears received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in History and Women's Studies. She then attended the other Carolina, earning a M.Ed. in Student Personnel Services in Higher Education and a Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies from the University of South Carolina. She has over a decade of experience working in four year institutions in the areas of Student Leadership Development, Co-Curricular Programming and Student Activities. She joined the CCCC staff in 2014 as a facilitator in the Pittsboro Academic Assistance Center. Angela is very excited to be a Success Coach with the College Success Center.

When not on CCCC's Pittsboro campus, Angela enjoys playing board games with her family, shopping at local farmers' markets, reading and working crossword puzzles.

Sanford Main Campus

Being from a small town in Western NY, Sarah especially enjoys working with students from small communities. She attained her Bachelor's degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo and her Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). Following graduate school Sarah worked for UNC Chapel Hill before joining the Success Center as the Lead in June of 2014.

In her free time Sarah enjoys going to country concerts, playing soccer, and watching the Bills and the Buckeyes win. She also spends a lot of time traveling to see friends and family.

Kevin Pearson earned his Bachelors Degree in Communications from Hampton University, Hampton, VA. He received his Masters Degree in Management and Leadership from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. Kevin's experience in higher education extends from College and Career Readiness within the Continuing Education Division to Student Outreach and Recruitment and as the Coordinator of Accreditation and Quality Enhancement Plan with the Institutional Research Division. He is dedicated to student success and looks forward to working with students to assist them with reaching their goals.

C. Dane Peterson graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.S. in Mathematics. Prior to university, he attended Lee Christian School and Lee Senior High School in Sanford, as well as studying at Sandhills Community College.

A New Hampshire native, he is thrilled to have left the snowy weather behind for the sunshine and blue skies of North Carolina. Prior to joining the College Success Center team, Dane worked as a facilitator for CCCC's Academic Assistance Center in Pittsboro and as a Developmental Mathematics Instructor on various campuses. When he's not boring others to pieces with math, Dane enjoys traveling back to the coast, pizza, and audio engineering for the Little German Band and Dancers of Raleigh.

Nick received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Wilkes University in PA and a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from SUNY Oneonta. He and his wife, Whitney, have lived in North Carolina for four years. He was a school counselor for 3 years prior to becoming the Lee Early College Success Coach. He is very passionate about education and loves working with the LEC students.

In his free time Nick loves watching sports, especially Duke basketball. He also enjoys golfing and traveling with his wife. He is extremely excited about joining the CCCC family and working with students to achieve their goals.

Adam received his BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and received his MA in College Student Development from Appalachian State University. Adam has worked in Housing and Residence Life, Student Conduct, New Student Orientation and Student Engagement over the past six years at large public universities and small private colleges.

In his free time, Adam enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, running, traveling, and spending time with friends and family!

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Appalachian State University. She also holds a Master of Justice Administration Degree from Methodist University and is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education Degree at Wingate University. Jamie's research interests center around how education can help solve social problems. Jamie has a diverse professional background and enjoys volunteering in the community. She especially enjoys helping students reach their personal and educational goals. Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, singing with the radio and taking naps.
