CCCC Employee of the Month!

May Full-Time
Employee of the Month: Katy Jones

"Katy has not only developed new programming for student activities, she has reinvigorated programming. People are talking about student activities and coming out and supporting them in record numbers. She has pushed the college to think about student engagement in new ways, and this is very deserving of recognition."

"Katy has recently agreed to serve on the Navigate Steering Committee and assist with National Advising Day programming in the fall, which are clearly not responsibilities she has to do (but I am grateful for her willingness to do so)."

"Katy has and is contributing in areas outside of her immediate responsibilities. I also hear her name in meetings where people realize they need to involve her and seek her input on student-facing issues. She also has been terrific about involving others, seeking volunteers to help with events, and involving a greater number of faculty and staff in student activities, which is exactly the right thing to do to create student buy-in. Her creativity for student programming is the best I have seen in my entire tenure with the college."

"Katy goes above and beyond to make every event the best it can be for all students and has breathed life back into student activities! It has been absolutely wonderful to see students participating in these events and having fun. Truly makes it feel like a real college campus environment again. She is also resurrecting the SGA program, and for the first time in five years we will again have student representation and student-led events."

"Although the duties of Spring Fling are in her duties, I think that everyone will agree that the events she held on all three main campus locations went far and above any anticipated events in the past. And if you observed her on these days, she was going at 1000% the entire time."

"All the events that Katy has created from the ground up this year have been fresh and new. She is not doing the same old thing, but looking at what students want and has sought input from students to help make these events. The air plants, Exam cram, Spring Fling, Stuff-A-Plush, etc. All were extremely well-received!"

    Meet Curly
    Cougar Pets

Hello there! I’m Curly, an introverted homebody with the sweetest smile. The great outdoors can be a scary place. I prefer staying in and cuddling up beside my favorite person in peace and quiet. My perfect weekend would be staying in to watch reruns of Jeopardy while I sneakily gaze into your eyes. If you’ve got an empty spot on the couch, I’d be ecstatic to fill it!

See all of the happy endings, or rather Happy Tails of Cougar Pets.

All adoptable dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccines. They have had regular dental cleanings, blood work, and physical exams. We pride ourselves on the care that our cats and dogs receive during their stay. Contact us at www.cougarpets.org for more information on our colony dogs and available cats.
