Three CCCC student-athletes recognized for academic excellence

SANFORD - The National Junior College Athletic Association has recognized three Central Carolina Community College student-athletes for their academic excellence.

Taylor Wagner (volleyball) and Madison Perry (women's basketball) received Pinnacle Academic Achievement Awards for maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Daija Terry (volleyball) received a Superior Academic Achievement Award for maintaining between a 3.8 and 3.99 GPA.

Taylor Wagner is a starting outside hitter for the CCCC volleyball team and a student in the cosmetology program. She graduated from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville.

Madison Perry is a member of the women's basketball program and was at Holly Springs High School before joining the Central Carolina basketball program. She is studying criminal justice.

Daija Terry, a starting setter for the CCCC volleyball program, is a graduate of Albemarle High School in Charlottesville, Va. She recently received the Outstanding Student Award in the Associate of Arts - University Transfer program, Chatham County.
