CCCC will host BBQ Academy

DUNN - Central Carolina Community College's Dunn Center will host the Central Carolina BBQ Academy.

The Central Carolina BBQ Academy will meet on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 2 and concluding March 22. The class will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Students will create classic sauce recipes including eastern and western variations. Students will prepare sauces as well as complimenting proteins and vegetables. Basic meat and knife cuts will be taught in the class, as well as safety and sanitation procedures.

Uniform required - hat or hair covering, chef's coat, smock or apron, and closed toe shoes. Cost is $70.55.

Natural Chef Certification and SafeServ, as well as Baking and Event Planning, are other culinary programs to be offered at the Dunn Center. The Dunn Center is located at the former Harnett High School, 660 E. Johnson St., Dunn.
