Central Carolina Community College Cosmetology-115 students at the Harnett County Campus recently had a competitive assignment, ‘Fantasy Salon in a Box,’ in which they created and furnished miniature salons following N.C. State Board of Cosmetic Art requirements for salon layouts. The students also had to name their salons and create a business plan for them. The winners of the competition were (from left) Courtney Gilfillan, of Cary, who won third place with her model, ‘The Hair Doctor’; Dana Byrd, of Lillington, who took first place with ‘Flair for Hair’; and Jessica Heath, of Fuquay, who took second place with ‘Martinis and Mirrors’. Instructor Sis Pate, of Dunn, said that all the students were very creative and did a great job.
