SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College Volleyball Coach Bill Carter believes this year's Lady Cougars' team has the tools necessary for building a great season.

Coach Carter said the team "will have a very balanced lineup that will incorporate good serving, great passing, good blocking and a powerful attack. I believe team chemistry is one of our strongest assets."

Coach Carter has two returning athletes (with high school and hometown listed) - Kaiyan Padilla (Northglenn H.S., Denver, Colo.), and Pristina Tabon (Southern Lee H.S., Sanford). "Kai Padilla and Pristina Tabon are our returners who will provide leaders along with great defense and passing," said Coach Carter.

New members of this year's CCCC volleyball squad, including name, high school and hometown, are: Natalie Johnson (Overhills H.S., Spring Lake), Alexis McDougald (Pine Forest H.S., Cameron), Danya Parvin (Homeschool, Fuquay-Varina), Halan Raynor (Calvary Christian Academy, Coats), Anna Smith (Marlboro Academy, Rockingham), Bonnie Thompson (Narbonne H.S., Los Angeles, Calif.) and Tessa Wisniewski (Highlands School, Highlands).

"The 2021 CCCC Cougar volleyball team has reloaded its roster and is working very hard to be ready for the start of the season," said Coach Carter. "I am hoping that we will have the opportunity to be very competitive in our regular season with a chance to win the Region 10 Division III volleyball tournament."
