CCCC announces BLET graduates

SANFORD - Six individuals are among the most recent graduates of the Central Carolina Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.

The graduates are Thomas Briley of Raleigh, Jesse Cox of Raleigh, Megan Holder of Lillington, Vincent Iorio of Chapel Hill, Christopher Scales of Linden, and Cortrell Woodard of Cameron.

A ceremony to honor the graduates was held at 6 p.m. June 15 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center in Sanford.

Several of the graduates were recognized for outstanding achievement during their training. They were: Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Chase/ Apprehension - Thomas Briley; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Rescue - Thomas Briley; Jimmy Collins Top Gun Award - Thomas Briley; Highest Class Average - Jesse Cox; and Highest State Exam - Jesse Cox.

Benson Wise, CCCC BLET Adjunct Instructor, was guest speaker. Class Response was by Megan Holder, Class Leader. Welcome was by Neil Ambrose, CCCC BLET Program Director.

Ambrose awarded the graduation certificates.

Class sponsors were the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, Harnett County Sheriff's Office, N.C. Parks and Recreation, and Southern Pines Police Department.
