CCCC cross country competes in NJCAA regional competition

Click to enlarge,  The Central Carolina Community College cross country team recently competed at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region X Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, S.C. In the women's competition, Anna Trotter (far right) of Pittsboro, N.C., won first place for Division 3 and was named Runner of the Year. Nayelly Martinez (second from left) of Sanford, N.C., finished third and Marilynn Richardson (second from right) of Sanford, N.C., finished fourth among Division 3 runners. All three were named to the All-Region team. In the men's competition, Colby Day (far left) of Frisco, N.C., led the Cougars, finishing fourth among Division 3 runners. He was also named to the All-Region team. The men's team placed second overall in Division 3. Trotter and Day will advance to the NJCAA Division 3 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.
