CCCC celebrates the achievements of the SECU Foundation Bridge to Career Scholarship recipients

SANFORD, N.C. - Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) hosted a Scholarship Recognition Ceremony on Oct. 11 for recipients of the 2022-2023 State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) Foundation Bridge to Career Scholarship. The event was held at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center.

The State Employees Credit Union Foundation established the SECU Bridge to Career Program to help remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials through the Workforce Continuing Education Division of their local community college that lead to sustainable wage careers within their local communities.

Opening remarks were by Felicia Crittenden, CCCC Dean of Workforce Development & Continuing Education Operations. Harriet Norris of the State Employees Credit Union spoke about the support of the SECU Scholarships within our communities.

Chasity Dorsett (Nurse Aide student), Jeily Espinal (Nurse Aide student), Alexandria Chatman (Nurse Aide student), and Vanessa Hagwood (Biotechnology student) spoke of The Student Experiences.

Closing remarks were by CCCC President Dr. Lisa M. Chapman.
