SANFORD - The Central Carolina Community College Accounting program has been recognized by Best Value Schools as one of the Best 24 Associate Degree in Finance in 2021. CCCC was ranked No. 5. See rankings at bestvalueschools.org/ associate-degree-in-finance.

The announcement states, in part: "The schools have been ranked according to a matrix using cost, faculty to student ratio, and graduation rate. The lower the cost and faculty to student ratio the higher the school will rank."

"Our program is tailored to give students real world experience in Accounting software along with developing a passion for Accounting," said Martin C. Haley Jr., CCCC Lead Accounting Instructor. "They will be able to hit the ground running when they start their Accounting career and they will have the skills necessary to be successful."

"The Accounting & Finance degree offered at CCCC prepares students for the workforce," said Erynn Stainback, CCCC Accounting Instructor. "Our courses are designed to give students hands-on experience with scenarios, software, and tasks they will encounter in the profession. As a part of the degree, students learn the accounting applications of Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Intuit's ProConnect tax software, and payroll accounting. Our program is accessible to all learners as it is offered on-campus and in an online format."

The Accounting instructional program at CCCC focuses on many business functions and emphasize learning Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Courses/subject matter in the Accounting program include: Financial and Managerial Accounting, Income Taxes (Individual and Business), Payroll and Accounting Software, Economics and Financial Markets, Management and Human Resources, and Business Law and Ethics.
