SANFORD - There were 31 businesses and 44 business leaders participating in the first Central Carolina Community College Virtual Career Fair held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 29.

Mary Parker, CCCC Career Center Coordinator in Lee County, says the event went well and accomplished its purpose of offering Spring graduates and upcoming Summer graduates of Central Carolina Community College the valuable opportunity to connect and network with local, community, and state employers eager to share their job openings, internship roles, and on-the-job training positions for applicant consideration.

"The benefits of the CCCC Virtual Career Fair are numerous, but first and foremost, the opportunity to directly connect hiring businesses with highly skilled and knowledgeable CCCC students and alumni seeking to enter the professional world of work without geographical, economical, or social boundaries limiting access, is most important," said Parker, who noted that 41 students and alumni registered to participate in the Virtual Career Fair. "With uncertainties of exactly how the global workforce marketplace will look in the future or where the unemployment rates may land, the Central Carolina Community College Virtual Career Fair being offered to our students, alumni, and others is an event that will better familiarize, better prepare, and enable these individuals to remain persistent in reaching for and obtaining their academic and professional career goals."

The CCCC Career Center offers the following services: career and internship advising, online career assessment, career exploration, resume writing assistance, interviewing etiquette demonstration, recruitment events, and a career resource library.
