Seventh CCCC Foundation Harnett Golf Classic a winner

DUNN - Opportunity was the big winner as golfers wrapped up the seventh Central Carolina Community College Foundation Harnett Golf Classic June 25 at Chicora Golf Club.

The Classic combines fun with the serious goal of raising funds to assist CCCC students who need financial help to stay in college. The proceeds will be used to fund scholarships.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of CCCC and uses them to promote the educational mission of the college and assist students through scholarships and grants.

The Harnett County Golf Classic was a Four-Person Captain's Choice Flighted competition with two flights. The winners, team scores, and sponsors were:

First Flight

First Place: 56 - Steve Malone, Chris Hockaday, Nick Skatell, Fred Rambeaut - Sponsored by Diversified Service Contracting, Inc.

Second Place: 57 - Randy Coleman, Dale Coleman, Todd Matthews, Chuck Claren - Sponsored by Parrish Daughtry.

Third Place: 58 - Steven Hamby, Mark Whitman, Dan Jordon, Bobby Weaver - Sponsored by Hayes, Williams, Turner & Daughtry.

Second Flight

First Place: 61 - Coley Price, Carl Davis, John Wilson, Chad Beane - Sponsored by Bill Tyson.

Second Place: 62 - John Wiggins, Elmon Williams, Hylton Lawrence, Chance Neva - Sponsored by Tart Law Group.

Third Place: 64 - Mitch Peele, Keith Larick, Stephen Woodson, Gail Peele - Sponsored by Julian Philpott.

Closest to the pin winners were Steven Hamby, Elmon Williams, and Chris Hockaday. Longest drive winner was Darell Smith.

Hole-in-one sponsor was Precision Ford. Lunch was provided by Broad Street Deli.
