SANFORD - Six Central Carolina Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training cadets graduated during May 15 exercises at the CCCC Emergency Services Training Center in Sanford.
Graduates were Bryan Andersen of Sanford, Grant Connick of Sanford, Roberto Flores of Sanford, Patrick McKinnon of Fuquay-Varina, Benjamin Nuckols of Carthage, and Osiris Pena of Morrisville.
Several of the graduates were recognized for outstanding achievement during their training. They were: Most Improved Physical Fitness - Roberto Flores; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Chase/ Apprehension - Bryan Andersen; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Rescue - Bryan Andersen; Jimmy Collins Top Gun Award - Bryan Andersen; Highest Course Grade Point Average - Patrick McKinnon; and Highest State Exam - Benjamin Nuckols.
Capt. Bryan Allen, of the Lee County Sheriff's Office, delivered the graduation remarks. Class Response was by Benjamin Nuckols, Class Leader. Welcome was by Dr. Robert Powell, CCCC Director of Basic Law Enforcement Training.
Capt. Brian Estes, of the Lee County Sheriff's Office, awarded the graduation certificates.
Sponsoring agencies for the BLET class were the Broadway Police Department, Fuquay-Varina Police Department, Lee County Sheriff's Department, Siler City Police Department, Southern Pines Police Department, and UNC Hospitals Police Department.
