SANFORD - Keith Clark, of Sanford, was honored for his service to Central Carolina Community College's Board of Trustees before the Trustees' meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Clark has served on the board since 2013, appointed by former Gov. Pat McCrory.

Julian Philpott, Chairman of the CCCC Board of Trustees, said that from the beginning of Clark's term he was not shy in expressing his vision for innovative ways to further the mission of the College. "Keith was constantly urging all of us as Trustees and the College administration to engage in innovative learning techniques and to embrace the ever evolving technology that has become increasingly important," said Philpott.

Philpott noted that Clark was an integral part of those working for the passage of the CCCC bond referendum in 2014. "Keith, you know you are an integral part of the construction you see going on and we very much appreciate that," said Philpott.

"Keith, Central Carolina Community College is a much better college for your dedication and service on this board. We appreciate your dedication and service to Central Carolina Community College. We know that you're going to continue to be a strong advocate for CCCC."

CCCC President Dr. T. Eston Marchant said Clark truly cares about the College and its students. "He understands the various programs that we have and he has shown up and comes to the meetings and functions," said Marchant. "He always has ideas, too. Ideas how the college could be better -- ways the College could improve."
