PITTSBORO – Financial aid is available for Chatham County residents interested in enrolling in Central Carolina Community College’s Continuing Education health occupations programs at the college’s facilities in Chatham County in the fall.

Interested Chatham residents are invited to attend one of the Tuition Scholarship Days being held by the college.

The first will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, in Office 108 of Building 1, Chatham County Campus, 764 West St., Pittsboro. The second will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, in the Conference Room at the Siler City Center, 400 Progress Blvd., Central Carolina Business Campus.

Most of the Continuing Education health occupations programs require the student to take a Workplace Readiness for Healthcare Careers class through the Human Resources Development program. The tuition for the HRD class is waived if the student meets certain criteria: unemployed; has received notification of pending layoff; working but eligible for federal earned income tax credit; or working and earning wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

Continuing Education health occupations programs being offered at the Chatham Campus in the fall are: SC/PBO Nurse Aide I, Nurse Aide I State Competency Review, Pharmacy Technician, Sleep Disorders Technician, Central Sterile Technician, Medical Office Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Cardiac Monitoring Technician, and CPR Certification.
