SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College will host volleyball camps for middle and high school aged students. The camps are designed and facilitated by CCCC Volleyball Coach Bill Carter and assistants.
The Advanced Skills Camp for rising sixth through eighth graders (middle school) will be held Monday through Wednesday, July 16-18. Registration/check-in time is 8:30 a.m., with session times from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration fee of $75 includes a T-shirt. The camp will focus on teaching, developing, and improving serving, passing, digging, blocking and attacking.
High School Elite Boot Camp for rising ninth through 12th graders (need an email referral from a club or school volleyball coach) will be held Monday through Wednesday, July 16-18. Registration/check-in time is 1:30 p.m., with session times from 2 to 5 p.m. Registration fee of $75 includes a T-shirt. The camp will focus on advance small group and team play that will incorporate a high level of repetition. Coaching staff will focus on teaching, developing, and improving serving, passing, digging, blocking, and attacking during play with short breakout sessions in all skill areas. There will be a daily conditioning component to help players get prepared for the upcoming season.
The Cougar Team Camp, which will be held Thursday and Friday, July 19-20, is open to the first four high school teams to register. Registration fee is $500 per team, which includes T-shirts. Session times are Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, lunch break noon to 1 p.m., chalk talk 1 to 1:45 p.m., and second session 2 to 5 p.m. The four-team tournament begins at 9 a.m. Friday, July 20.
