Carl Bryan (center), Social Science and Wellness Department chairman at Central Carolina Community College, was honored as the college’s 2010 Instructor of the Year during the college’s Circle of Excellence Awards program April 19 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Bryan received a plaque, reserved parking space for a year and $500. Ray Womble (right), sales representative for Wilkinson Automotive, Inc, in Sanford, presented the $500 award check as Bryan’s wife, Wendy Bryan, (left) looked on. As an honoree, Bryan joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence and his name will be engraved on the Circle of Excellence wall plaque at the college. He will now compete for the North Carolina Community College System’s Excellence in Teaching Award against instructors of the year chosen by each of the state’s other 57 community colleges.

Haley Thomas (right) was honored as Central Carolina Community College’s Administrative and Supervisory Staff Employee of the Year at the college’s Circle of Excellence Awards program April 19 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. She will now compete to be the North Carolina Community College System’s Administrative and Supervisory Staff Employee of the Year. Thomas is the college’s Enrollment Services coordinator and has been with the college five years. Presenting the award check of $500 is Bill Wilson (second from right), a partner in Wilson & Reives Attorneys, of Sanford, which sponsors the award. As a winner, Thomas joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence and will have her name engraved on the Circle of Excellence plaque at the Lee County Campus. Also pictured (from left) is Thomas’ family: husband Charles Thomas, and parents Robert and Deborah Garrison. At the event, Wilson was honored for his contributions to the college as a trustee for more than 16 years.

Also pictured are (left) Wood’s grandmother, Peggy Jones, and (right) father, Dale Lewis. As a winner, Wood joins the college’s prestigious Circle of Excellence and will have her name engraved on the Circle of Excellence plaque at the Lee County Campus.
