Topics include applications, terminology, history, patient care, ethics, and basic skills. Coursework will include theory and lab activities. Upon completion, students should also be able to define sonographic applications and perform basic patient care skills and preliminary scanning techniques. This class does not qualify a student to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification and students are not qualified to work as diagnostic medical sonographers.
