Head Women's Basketball Coach

Prior to his appointment to the Central Carolina Community College Cougars, Ramsey was an assistant recruiting coach with Louisburg College for the summer as Coach Hayes transitioned to the Head Coach in 2013. Ramsey is a firm believer in performing in the classroom as he stands behind the title STUDENT-ATHLETE. He has spent two years as an assistant coach at Stephens Prep Academy and was the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Holly Springs High School where he was the Assistant Coach prior to taking over the reins of this proven program.

Ramsey helped establish a well-respected program in the Winston Salem-Forsyth County area with South Stokes High School where he led them to a 19-9 season and a Sectional Finals appearance. He helped the Boys program to a Sectional Finals the year prior to transitioning to Women's Basketball. Ramsey has helped a number of students move on to Colleges and Universities. He feels like his passion and personality will enable him to lead the way for the Cougars.

Ramsey has worked with student-athletes for over 10 years as an individual skill development coach and mentor. He coordinated summer basketball camps, basketball tournaments, jamborees, and Unsigned Senior Showcases for the past 8-10 years. He taught classes with the University of Phoenix online for the past 2 years while holding the position of a Middle School Assistant Principal. He participated as an instructor in basketball camps hosted by NCAA Division I head coaches Roy Williams (North Carolina), Skip Prosser (Wake Forest) and Herb Sendek (NC State). Ramsey has taught/mentored at-risk children at local middle and high schools as a part of his passion for helping others.

Ramsey holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in Early Childhood Education. He went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he obtained a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. Tierre Ramsey is a Roxboro native and has two children: Morgan (9-years old) and Michael (6-years old). Ramsey is committed to helping others and this is why he created ESSENTIAL SKILLS ATHLETICS training to connect NC's talent with the basic fundamentals needed to succeed in school and life.
