CCCC Phi Beta Lambda wins at state

SANFORD – Central Carolina Community College 's Phi Beta Lambda students placed first or second in five competitions at the PBL State Conference in Raleigh April 10-13. Central Carolina students also won two sixth and one eighth places. First and second place winners move on to compete at the National Conference in Atlanta in June.  

More than 250 students from PBL business student chapters at two- and four-year colleges and universities across the state competed at the conference.

Those from Central Carolina C.C. who attended the conference, and their awards, were: Teresa Nicholas Bautista, of Sanford, sixth place, Marketing Analysis; Alex Benitez, of Sanford; Nico Boncales, of Sanford, second place, Business Ethics; Gerald Cole, Lemon Springs, second place, Business Ethics and sixth place, Business Law; Donna Flowers, of Sanford, eighth place, Accounting; Jeremy Hartman, of Erwin, sixth place, Macroeconomics, and eighth place, Accounting Analysis; Rachel Martin, of Olivia, first place, Justice Administration; Subrina Mills, of Sanford, second place, Business Ethics and Economic Analysis; Emily Needham, of Bear Creek, second place, Business Law; and, Rose Orange, of Cameron, first place in Business Plan, and third place, Sales Presentation. Advisors attending were Business/REAL Instructor Diane Kannar, Human Resources Lead Instructor George Clayton, Business Administration Lead Instructor Johnny Shull, and Accounting Instructor Drew Goodson.

“The PBL club advisors are very proud of our students who competed and represented our college so well,” Goodson said.

 
 

 

The Phi Beta Lambda Professional Business Organization for students held its state conference in Raleigh April 10-13. More than 250 students from PBL chapters at two- and four-year colleges across the state attended. Ten members and four advisors from Central Carolina Community College 's PBL Chapter attended. Central Carolina students placed first or second in five events and will move on to compete at the National Conference in Atlanta in June. CCCC students also won two sixth and one eighth places.
