Central Carolina C.C. honors Employees of the Year
April 14, 2008
SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College paid tribute to its best at its 2008 Circle of Excellence Awards Presentation April 10 in the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center.
Three employers were added to the college's prestigious Circle of Excellence: Jessica Brown, Biology Instructor; Jonathan Loftis, Animal Facilities Manager for the Veterinary Medical Technology program; and Marcia Bellamy, recently retired Director of Institutional Effectiveness.
Their selections were based on nominations by their peers and exceptional performance in their positions. Each received an award plaque, one-year reserved parking space and a $500 check from the company of the award presenter. Their names will be engraved on a permanent "Circle of Excellence" wall plaque at the college.

· Brown, of Bear Creek, was honored as the Instructor of the Year. The award was presented by Doug Wilkinson Jr., member of the college's board of trustees and president of Wilkinson Cadillac-Pontiac-GMC, in Sanford. Brown will now compete against instructors of the year chosen at the other 57 community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System for the NCCCS Excellence in Teaching Instructor of the Year Award. Brown's family was present for the award presentation, including her father, Jim Hall, who was a biology teacher at Piedmont Community College for 33 years. "Central Carolina Community College is a great place to work," said Brown, who is now in her seventh year of teaching. "I plan to follow my father's footsteps as a community college biology teacher."
