CCCC students awarded scholarships

SANFORD – Brenda Reilly, of Lemon Springs, and James Thorn, of Pittsboro, both second-year Central Carolina Community College Computer Information Technology students, were awarded scholarships at the North Carolina Computer Instructors Association Conference held Feb. 20-22 at Stanly County Community College. Only 10 scholarships were awarded to CIT students statewide.

Mary Ellen O’Shields and Emily Shepard, Central Carolina C.C. CIT instructors, presented the $750 scholarships to their students. Reilly received the David Harris Memorial Scholarship and Thorn, the Pearson Scholarship.

“This is a wonderful accomplishment for them,” Shepard said.
