Kids’ summer enrichment camps at Central Carolina C.C.

SANFORD – Central Carolina Community College’s Continuing Education Department in Lee County will offer three educational and fun-filled enrichment camps for children of various ages during the coming summer:

• Kids’ Computer Camp
This camp will provide an in-depth overview of basic computers, MS Office software, research sites, and how to safely browse the Internet. Children will learn how to use MS Office programs to complete assignments and work on projects. They will also be introduced to Internet research sites for completion of schoolwork and learn how to avoid predators when using the Internet.
Dates: July 14-18, 8:30 a.m.-12: 30 p.m., ages 8-10
July 21-25, 8:30 a.m.-12: 30 p.m., ages 11-13

Location: CCCC Jonesboro Center, 400 Cox Maddox Road

Cost: $60

• Kids’ Cooking Camp with Chef Hamm

Children will spend a fun-filled week learning a variety of cooking techniques.

Dates: June 23-26

Times: 9 a.m.-12 p.m., ages 6 to 8; and,
1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., ages 9 to 12

Location: Lee County Senior High School, 1708 Nash St.

Cost: $100

• SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) Preparation
This camp, held twice during the summer, will equip rising high school seniors with the tools to take the SAT exam. The instructors will provide test-taking strategies, speed-reading techniques, and other useful resources to assist in preparing for the college entrance exam. This is not a remedial course.

1. Dates: July 21-25, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Location: CCCC Lee County Campus, 1105 Kelly Drive, Wilkinson Hall, Room 205

Cost: $100 (includes SAT textbook)

2. Dates: July 21-July 24, 4 p.m.-9 p.m.

Location: CCCC Lee County Campus, Classroom & Fitness Center, Room 813

Cost: $100 (includes SAT textbook)
