CCCC ’s Spivey elected NCAEOP president-elect

SANFORD – Linda Spivey, Human Resources Employment Specialist at Central Carolina Community College, has been elected as 2008-09 president-elect of the North Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals, Inc.
The election took place March 7 at the organization’s annual convention in Greensboro. Spivey, a Sanford resident, was vice president for 2007-08. As president-elect, she will advance to the presidency of the 2,800-member organization for 2009-10. She has been an active member of the organization at the local, district and state level for 25 years. She was instrumental in starting the Central Carolina C.C. unit in 1983.
“I am the first from Central Carolina C.C. to serve as state president-elect,” Spivey said. “I love the college and see this as another opportunity to serve the college and the organization.”
Other officers elected were: President – Joyce Smith, of Carteret Community College; Vice President – Lisa Elmore, of Pitt Community College; and Secretary ¬– Kay Bradley, of Wayne Community College. According to Spivey, this is the first time that all the state officers are from community colleges.
The NCAEOP, founded in 1951 as the N.C. Association of Educational Secretaries, is a 2,800-member organization of personnel and administrators in North Carolina public and private educational institutions. |
