Central Carolina CC student places in International Speech Contest

SANFORD – Amber Clark, of Broadway, a university transfer student at Central Carolina Community College, placed fourth in the International Speech Contest held Feb. 23 in Southern Pines. Her speech was titled, “Can’t Buy Me Self-Esteem.”
The Sandhills Branch of the English Speaking Union hosted the contest. The ESU is an international organization whose mission is “to create global understanding through English.” The theme for the contest was “New Horizons, New Frontiers.” The contest was open to full-time students, ages 16-20. |
