A hug for retirement
Jan 11 , 2007
Joyce Thomas (left), chairman of Central Carolina Community College’s Cosmetology Department since 1995, gets a big hug from Walter Cotton, chairman of the college’s new Barbering Department, at Thomas’ retirement party Dec. 17 at the college. Prior to coming to CCCC, Thomas ran her own cosmetology school in Sanford. When she came to the college, the Cosmetology Department programs had seven students enrolled. There are now 235 students in the programs. In 2006, she was one of 10 statewide semi-finalists for the North Carolina Community College System’s Excellence in Teaching Award. |
