CCCC Foundation Golf Classic a hole-in-one

SANFORD – The Central Carolina Community College Foundation’s 18th Annual Golf Classic scored a hole-in-one as 172 players gathered at Sanford Golf Course Wednesday for the event. Even the weather was having a good day as it smiled on the players competing in the morning Captain’s Choice or the afternoon Best Ball tournaments.

Local businesses, industries and organizations sponsored teams for the competition, which is the foundation’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds are used primarily to provide scholarships for CCCC students taking classes at the college’s campuses in Lee, Harnett and Chatham counties or by distance education. This year’s event has raised about $30,000 so far, with donations still coming in.
