SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College is offering accelerated evening options for selected courses for the Fall 2016 semester.
Students who wish to complete English Composition I and II (ENG 111, ENG 112), General Psychology (PSY 150), or Introduction to Sociology (SOC 210) can do so in an eight-week format. Students will meet on-campus one night a week and do online course work to complete the requirements for the class.
These classes are fully transferrable to all public and private universities in North Carolina. They meet the requirements for most transfer degrees and for many of the Associate in Applied Science degrees offered by Central Carolina Community College.
"We are delighted to be able to offer more options for our night students," said Scott Byington, Dean of Arts, Sciences, and Advising. "This accelerated option will allow students to make more progress toward their academic goals in less time. It can be a great way to jump-start one's degree, meet a requirement for an academic program, or just explore a college course."
Students in Harnett County or Chatham County who would rather take the General Psychology or Introduction to Sociology class at the Lillington or Pittsboro campuses can do so, since the classes will be delivered via remote technology to these campuses one night a week.
"CCCC makes every effort to accommodate the needs of working students. These eight-week classes will allow students to take a semester's worth of classes at night," said CCCC President Dr. T. Eston Marchant. "We hope many students will find this option a great way to complete more of their education at CCCC."
