SANFORD -- Central Carolina area students recently participated in Central Carolina Community College's High Touch/High Tech Weekend Workshop on Robotics.
The students were instructed and guided by Sandra Castonguay, Electronics Engineering Technology Lead Instructor; Randall Griffin, Mentor-Engineering; David Pope, Laser & Photonics student, and Ben O'Quinn and Anthony Bond, Electronics Engineering students.
Students built a light sensor line tracing snail robot. Upon completion, the students tested the robot for proper operation and competed against one another in a robot race.
Students attending the event were Aubrey Bond (Boone Trail Elementary), Taylor Musslewhite (East Lee Middle), Zachary Griffin (Gentry Elementary), Jay'lnn and Shakeem Bristow (Grace Christian), Bethany Thompson (Reid Ross Classical), Anthony Hall and Giovanni Melendez (SanLee Middle), and Conner Duncan (Tramway Elementary).
