CCCC offers online employability skills class

LILLINGTON — Unemployed and low-wage workers can hone their personal and job search skills through a new online Employability Skills class offered by Central Carolina Community College Human Resources Development (HRD).
The online course covers the development of employment and personal management strategies. It also explores self-assessments, goal setting, job search plans, application techniques, interview skills, résumé preparation, communication skills, time management, and much more.
The class begins Jan. 25 and ends April 18. Those enrolling must have basic computer knowledge and access to a computer.
This course is open to all adults. It is free for adults who are unemployed, are working and eligible for the federal earned income tax credit, have received notice of a pending layoff, or who earn wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. For others, the class fee is $175.
An orientation for the class will be held 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in Room 229, Continuing Education Building, CCCC Harnett County Campus, 1075 E. Cornelius Harnett Blvd., Lillington.
