LILLINGTON — The Machining Technology Program at Central Carolina Community College hosts an Open House 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in the Continuing Education Building at the college’s Harnett County Campus.

New industries locating in the college’s service area of Harnett, Lee, and Chatham counties, as well as existing industries, are looking for skilled metalworkers. The first place they look is the college’s Machining Technology Program, which has one of the best reputations in North Carolina for producing skilled machinists and tool and die makers.

Come and learn why machining and tool and die making are great hands-on, high-tech careers with many opportunities and good pay. Visitors will tour the facility. Financial aid information, schedules, placement test information and applications will be available.

For more information about the Open House or programs, contact Edwin Thomas, chairman of Machining/Tool and Die, at the Harnett County Campus, (910) 814-8837. Information is also available by calling the Lee County Campus at (919) 718-7261 or (800) 682-8353 ext. 7261, or at the college’s website, www.cccc.edu.

The annual CCCC Foundation/Harnett Correctional Institution Furniture Auction will also take place at the Harnett Campus on June 7. It will begin at 12 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Miriello Administration Building.

The Harnett Campus is located at 1075 E. Cornelius Harnett Blvd. (Highway 421 South) in Lillington.
