CCCC will host solar eclipse viewing parties

SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College will host a solar eclipse viewing parties on Monday, Aug. 21.

Don't miss the opportunity to witness this event, which takes place as sunlight is blocked as the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth.

It is important to view the eclipse with special protection for your eyes, as not doing so could be dangerous. Solar eclipse glasses will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Solar eclipse viewing events will be held at the following locations:

• Chatham County: at Chatham Main Campus (Behind Building 41) in Pittsboro, 2:15 p.m.; at Siler City Center (Outside on the lower level of the Siler City Center), 2-3 p.m.
• Harnett County: at Harnett Main Campus (Outside of the Miriello Building) in Lillington, 2:15 p.m.
• Lee County: at Lee Main Campus (In the courtyard beside the Bell Welcome Center) in Sanford, 2:15 p.m.
