CCCC's Division of Economic & Community Development offers variety of fall classes

SANFORD - Have you ever thought about a job in cosmetic arts? Health occupations? Culinary arts? Industry? Public safety?

Central Carolina Community College's Division of Economic & Community Development (ECD) is offering numerous programs in the fall semester, including a variety of occupational classes that can lead to that special career for which you've been seeking.

One such class is Certified Drivers License (CDL), where course graduates can find jobs in the trucking industry. Each session of the course operates for four weeks.

The college also offers courses, programs, and seminars in the following areas: Animals & Pets; Artistry & Craftsmanship; Automotive Occupations; Business & Leadership; College & Career Readiness; Computer Technology; Construction; Cosmetic Arts; Creative Writing; Culinary Arts & Hospitality; Dance; Emergency Medical Services; Finance; Fire & Rescue Services; Fitness; Foreign Languages; Health & Medical Occupations; Industrial/Manufacturing; Industry Services -Customized Training Programs; Law Enforcement In-service Training; Life, Leisure & Travel; Motor Vehicles & Driving; Photography; Small Business Seminars; Sustainable Living & Green Technology, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

For those individuals who are interested in artistry and craftsmanship, classes are available in such areas as jewelry making, painting, pastels, pottery, and sewing.

Perhaps you've thought about dance. There are dance classes for Ballroom, Shag, and Hustle and Samba.

There is an Introduction to Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones) course, which will provide an overview of the rapidly emerging Unmanned Aircraft Systems industry. Focus on this course will be a review of regulations, safe operations, and applications for drones in daily activities.

Culinary & Hospitality Arts classes include Artisan Breads, Cake Decorating I and II, Healthy Dishes around the World, How to Cook Locally and Seasonally, Introduction to Baking, Natural Chef Certification, Nutrition, and Servsafe Certification.

There are a variety of Computer Technology courses, including Core Competency in Social Media, Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Microsoft Office 2013, Introduction to Photoshop, Managing Your Own WordPress Website, and Photoshop Elements.

If you are interested in Creative Writing, there are six course offerings.

Small Business Seminars include such titles as "Grant Writing," "Funding Your Business," "How to Build Your Website," and "How to Start a Home Based Business."
