SANFORD - The Economic and Community Development Division (ECD) of Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) announces the opening of its new Student Support Center (SSC). It's a one-stop shop - one Center and one telephone number -- for all people interested in the college's Continuing Education program.

The Student Support Center is a resource that assists with questions regarding Continuing Education classes (books, materials, and supply lists), WebAdvisor (online inquiry and registration system), telephone call-in registration, drop/add requests, and ed2go (online instruction center).

The Center is located in Room 11 of Budd Hall on the Lee County Campus. Ramona Leftwich is the Center Coordinator. The Center includes two full-time staff members, Susan Carlson and Linda Rhodes, as well as a rotation of administrative staff from the college's three-county service area (Chatham, Harnett, and Lee counties), and assistance from work study students.

The Center's mission is great customer service. "The goal of SSC is to make sure that every student receives the personal attention they deserve. We're going to better the process for our students, and create an environment that meets their needs," said Leftwich. "Armed with a wealth of information, the exceptionally trained staff will assist you with all your student needs."

The Student Support Center will help students stay informed. The SSC will provide new class information, registration and scholarship information, as well as a variety of other services.

"If you're a new or returning student, we want you to enjoy your experience and keep coming back to build upon your work credentials, start a new career, take classes for personal enrichment, or take a seminar on how to start your own business," said Leftwich.

"From beginning to end, the Support Center's goal is to make sure that the higher education experience is personal, hands-on, interactive and an overall pleasant experience. The Support Center will not only make CCCC more accessible to continuing education students, it will streamline their college experience."

Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Continuing Education students may access the Student Support Center by calling 919-718-7500.
