PITTSBORO - Central Carolina Community College's Chatham County Campus gets hopping on Saturday, March 29, when the CCCC Foundation hosts the Third Annual Rabbit Run 5K and Children's Fun Run. A fun addition to the event this year is the Dog Run.

Bring yourself, friends, family and four-legged buddies for a morning of enjoyment and exercise for a good cause. Proceeds from the Rabbit Run help fund scholarships for deserving students and other educational needs at the college.

The Rabbit Run 5K starts at 8 a.m., rain or shine, in front of the Administration Building at the campus, 764 West St., Pittsboro, winds through several streets, and returns to the campus.

Prizes will be awarded for the overall finisher, as well as the first male and female finishers. Prizes will also be awarded for first place in the male and female age groups: 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60-plus.

The Children's Fun Run, a half-mile, untimed race, takes off at 9 a.m. The first child across the finish line wins a trophy. All finishers receive a Finisher Ribbon and a Frisbee.

"We are ready to get hopping around Pittsboro!" said Emily Hare, director of CCCC's Foundation and Development Office. "This event is so much fun and, with the addition of the Dog Run this year, we are hoping that it will draw even more runners to our course. It's a challenging, USATF-certified course that will challenge runners of every skill. Come out and run with us!"

The entry fee for the Rabbit Run is $25. The Children's Fun Run

and Dog Run are $10 each.

The registration form is available online at www.cccc.edu/RabbitRun5K. Mail the form and payment to CCCC Foundation, Attn: Emily Hare, 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
