Actor Wes Schultz (right), of PlayMakers Repertory Theatre, UNC-Chapel Hill, speaks with Central Carolina Community College students Janice Campbell (left), of Broadway, and Fonda McSwain, of Sanford, during his Feb. 9 visit to instructor Ellen Bland’s Theatre Appreciation class at the college’s Lee County Campus. Schultz involved the students and members of the college’s theater production group in readings from playwright Arthur Miller’s drama ‘All My Sons.’ The play deals with priorities, choices and consequences for a manufacturer who sells defective airplane engine parts to the military during World War II. Schultz encouraged the students to review their own priorities in order to better understand the challenges faced by the various characters in the play. The students came away from his presentation with a greater understanding of the play and characters and excited about a planned trip to PlayMakers to see the production.
