LILLINGTON - Career Readiness Certificate tests will be given at Central Carolina Community College's Harnett County Campus on Friday, July 25.
Based on test results, one can be certified at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold level. Holding a North Carolina CRC credential validates a worker's skill level and ability to handle the tasks of an occupation, increasing employment and career advancement opportunities. It complements other traditional credentials, such as the GED, high school diploma and/or college degree. Employers use the CRC, along with other educational, experience, and background information, to make hiring, training and promotional decisions. With a state CRC, a person can obtain a national CRC, recognized nationwide.
The CRC testing will take place 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Continuing Education Building-HRD Program, Room 240, at the campus, 1075 E. Cornelius Harnett Blvd., Lillington.

The cost is $30 for the full set of CRC WorkKeys(R) assessments: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information. Payment must be either exact cash or check. The cost includes a certificate signed by Gov. Mike Easley. There is a $5 charge for a replacement CRC certificate. A photo identification, such as a driver's license or state ID, is required to take the tests.
