The CCCC Associate in Applied Science Degree in Professional Arts and Crafts:
Sculpture (www.cccc.edu/Programs/Sculpture.html) is unique within the state of North Carolina.  It is the only associate degree in sculpture offered through the North Carolina Community College System.

Part of what distinguishes this art degree from others in the state is its focus on developing the entrepreneurial skills of its recipients while also building their artistic and technical abilities.

CCCC students take classes in marketing and business plan writing as well as classes considered to be more typical for artists such as 3-D design, metal sculpting and ceramic glaze formulation.

The CCCC Professional Arts and Crafts: Sculpture degree program attracts a wide-ranging student body.  Current students include career change professionals, established artists and young adults engaged in their first college experience.

Former Navy veteran and current ceramic tile artist Lisa Beavers says, "This program is allowing me to move in new directions during my mid-life years.  I look forward to having these skills as I set up my studio at home and involve my children in my new career."
