Dennis Wicker and members of the Lee County Board of Commissioners for the groundbreaking ceremony for the four Central Carolina Community College bond projects that were approved by Lee County voters in November 2014.

Central Carolina Community College held a groundbreaking ceremony for the four Central Carolina Community College bond projects that were approved by Lee County voters in November 2014. The ceremony took place on the CCCC Lee Main Campus, with reception following at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center.

Dennis Wicker, former North Carolina Lieutenant Governor and namesake of the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, called the Central Carolina Community College groundbreaking event a festive occasion. 'It's one of joy. One of excitement,' he said.

Amy Dalrymple, Chair of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, told attendees at the college's groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 6, 'On behalf of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, we are all excited to get this thing going.'
