CCCC Lee Campus hosts Earth Day mini-Farmers Market

Central Carolina Community College's chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda Honor Society hosted a mini-Farmers Market at the college's Lee County Campus April 22 in celebration of Earth Day. Josh Marshburn (left), owner of Garden of Eden Specialty Soaps, in Sanford, sells some of his handmade goat milk and vegan soaps to Faye Stone, CCCC Financial Aid assistant. Earth Day has been celebrated internationally since 1971 and is intended to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and living sustainably. Central Carolina Community College's chapter of the Phi Beta Lambda Honor Society hosted a mini-Farmers Market at the college's Lee County Campus April 22 in celebration of Earth Day. Organically grown produce from CCCC's Student Farm at the Chatham County Campus attracted the interest of visitors during the event. Hillary Heckler (center), Student Farm manager, talks about the vegetables grown there with CCCC broadcasting student Adam Belcher (left), of Snow Camp, and Monica Sagastume-Ceron, of Sanford, the CCCC Student Government Association's liaison to Phi Beta Lambda.
